The story—

HOW MORTGAGES, ARCHITECTURE + DESIGN BECAME ONE VISION

At the start of my journey, studying architecture at the University of Toronto downtown campus, I was focussed on designing form, structure and spaces. As I went deeper into my study I became intrigued by the abstractions surrounding architecture—how it influences us and what influences it. It became clear to me that the architect is rarely in full control of the outcome, contrary to what media and public perception might suggest. There are always larger forces at play—

My experiences with clients, problem solving, helping them see what was possible— whether it was home ownership, refinancing or building from the ground up. They were excited and I was too. That energy fuelled me. A spark was lit. That’s when I knew this is where I belonged.

My path is not just about lending or numbers. It’s about growth and evolution.

I’m enlivened by ambitious entrepreneurs, talented artists, tastemakers, brilliant minds, dedicated people, families preserving legacy and those who may be a unique combination of these things.

I also realized that this journey is for a much bigger, multi-layered plan—one that now includes real estate financing and, eventually, land development.

politics, sociology, culture, history, topography, climate and perhaps most powerfully, finance+economics. That realization led me to explore the world of real estate financing. 

Eventually, I became a mortgage agent. I didn’t know how much I would love the role, or how long I would be committed to it. I had moments of hesitation—wondering how to reconcile what I thought would be a design career with this new path. But when I began working with my first clients, everything shifted.

During the process of planning and designing my own dream home, I was aware of the architectural design process and how to finance it—but I had gaps in my knowledge on how to finish it. That missing piece led me to interior design. Driven and inspired by that curiosity, I decided to formally study interior design and integrate it into my current mortgage business. I now bring it all together: architecture, mortgages and design.
